Radhika Merchant’s ‘Fairytale’ Bridal Wear Was Crafted by 25 Gifted Karigars
Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla interpretation of Panetar - the Gujarati tradition of brides wearing red and white, was thoughtfully styled by Rhea Kapoor.

Radhika Merchant looked like a dream on her special day! Dressed to the nines, for her fairytale wedding with Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani, Radhika, daughter of Viren and Shaila Merchant, looked stunning as bride.

Radhika adorned a custom Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ensemble for her wedding. The bridal ensemble was Abu and Sandeep’s exquisite intrepretation of Panetar, the Gujarati tradition where brides wear red and white on their big day. Radhika was styled by Rhea Kapoor and the ensemble was beautifully draped by drape artist Dolly Jain.

Radhika’s captivating aura and bridal glow accentuated the thoughtfully designed traditional style with a contemporary aesthetic. As innovative as the vision of the designers, the ivory zardosi cut work ghagra beautifully merged traditional patterns with details of western silhouettes. The state-of-art design featured a trailing ghagra layered with a second detachable trail, a 5 metre head veil and a tissue shoulder dupatta.

This opulent yet traditional ensemble created 25 of the most gifted karigars at Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Adding a sparkle to the ghagra were the three borders of red, which is also the colour of lasting love. The workmanship is the finest amalgamation of naqshi, saadi and zardozi symmetrically hand embroidered in intricate floral booties that are lavishly decorated with stones, sequins, tamba tikis and a touch of red resham.

Radhika’s head veil featured delicate jaali work while the detachable trail is 80 inches of zardozi marvel. Radhika’s bridal look included a red shoulder dupatta that uplifted the silhouette with its maximal drama.

Couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have envisioned it intensely in every angle and the placement to create the most dazzling sight. While the back of the dupatta is reminiscent of a cape, the front adapts elegantly to the many gracious movements of the bride.

According to the designer duo, the outfit, in its totality, is the romance, passion and serenity of love finding opulent expression in haute couture. It complements Radhika’s radiant beauty through the indulgent imagination of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla.

Radhika’s footwear was also hand-embroidered to match her outfit. Radhika’s bridal glow was further celebrated with hair and makeup by Loveleen Ramchandani and Hiral Bhatia respectively. Radhika’s radiant bridal look was captured through the lens of Joseph Radhik and Luis Monterio. Radhika’s mehendi was artistically done by Veena Nagda.
