Shimla: Heavy rains triggered flash floods in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, leaving one dead in its wake. Eight others are said to be still missing. The people were trying to cross the Som river when it suddenly breached its banks.
Meanwhile, 20 others stuck in the flash floods are said to have been rescued.
Cranes were deployed to retrieve four vehicles that were trapped in the floods on Sunday.
In Manali, meanwhile, 1500 people were stranded in their cars for hours when roads crumbled, before bulldozers were brought in to clear the way.
