Kerala, hit by heavy rains, floods, landslides is likely to get more rainfall today and tomorrow (July 30 and 31). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of isolated extremely heavy rains in Kerala on July 30 and very heavy rainfall in the southern state on July 31 and August 1.
The IMD in its latest forecast has said isolated extremely heavy rainfall is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Mahe on July 30, coastal and south interior Karnataka on July 30 and 31. Very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, and Mahe on July 31 and August 1 and Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on August 1.
The weather department has also warned of isolated extremely heavy rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra between August 1 and 3.
Very heavy rainfall is also very likely at isolated places over Konkan and Goa between July 30 and August 3, Madhya Maharashtra on July 30 and 31, Gujarat on July 30, West Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh between August 1 and 3, East Madhya Pradesh between July 31 and August 3 and Vidarbha on August 2.
Meanwhile, North and Northwest parts, which are witnessing a rainfall deficit this monsoon, are likely to see heavy rains between July 30 and August 1.
Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand between July 30 and August 1, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, West Uttar Pradesh on July 31 and August 1, and Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on August 1.
