KOCHI: The pilots and the crew of the Gulf Air flight which met with an accident at the Cochin International Airport on Monday, returned to Bahrain after the preliminary round of investigation, the Gulf Air authorities confirmed in an official report.The Gulf Air flight GF 270, an Airbus A-320, carrying 137 passengers on board veered off the runway while landing in the wee hours of Monday. Ruling out the bad weather as the cause of the accident, a preliminary inquiry by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has blamed pilots for the skidding off of the plane.Though the pilots and the crew returned, representatives from the Gulf Air’s headquarters remain in Kochi to provide ground support to the operation, facilitate the recovery and repair of the aircraft, and coordinate with the authorities in the investigation.The commander and the co-pilot would be de-rostered till the investigation is completed, the report said. It further said that the company has been supporting all the passengers who were on board with regard to claim issues.
