BANGALORE: Medical Education Minister S A Ramdas on Saturday said that state government will include infertility treatment in government insurance scheme. The proposal will be discussed in the coming session of the state Legislature.Speaking on the sidelines of Life 2011 conference here, he said: “We are aware that many women suffer from infertility. Life 2011 will help the government understand various problems faced by infertile people and take steps to tackle the issue.”Life 2011 is a three-day medical congress on ultrasound, infertility and fetal medicine, attended by over 500 medical practitioners in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. Dr Kamini Rao, gynaecologist & organising chairperson of Life 2011 said, “ Around 95 per cent of the faculty attending the conference are from South India. The event covers the latest trends in the fields of fetal medicine. The theme for the Conference ‘Sound Beyond Imagination’ and the nature of the topics are such that they will initiate fruitful debate.”Dr Hema Divakar, president of the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India was felicitated by Dr Kamini Rao during the conference.
