Gorakhpur Woman Ends Life after Husband's Death News: A Tale of Love and Loss
Local authorities from Cantt Police Station swiftly responded to the scene upon notification, securing Sanchit's body for further investigation and subsequent post-mortem examination.

In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Sanchit Srivastava, daughter of renowned psychiatrist Dr Ram Sharan Srivastava, hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, ended her life by jumping from the roof of her residence. The incident unfolded shortly after receiving news of her husband’s suicide in Varanasi, culminating in what was described as a two-year love story that met a devastating end.

The chain of tragedies began when Harish, Sanchit’s husband, took his own life by hanging in a hotel in Sarnath, Varanasi. Distraught upon learning of her husband’s demise, Sanchit fell into deep despair, ultimately leading to her decision.

Local authorities from Cantt Police Station swiftly responded to the scene upon notification, securing Sanchit’s body for further investigation and subsequent post-mortem examination. Initial reports suggest that marital discord may have played a role in both suicides, though officials refrained from commenting further.

Sanchit and Harish had married two years ago following a love marriage. Dr Ram Sharan Srivastava, residing on Civil Line Park Road in Gorakhpur, had recently welcomed his daughter Sanchit back home recently. Harish, who had pursued an MBA and worked at a private bank in Mumbai, had been residing with his in-laws in Gorakhpur for the past six months due to Sanchit’s health concerns.

On Saturday, July 6, Harish left Gorakhpur after informing the family that he was going to his village. Soon after, the news of his suicide shook everybody including his wife, Sanchit, who jumped from the second floor of her house.
