MYSORE: Former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa is a matter of research now. Prasanna Kumar K, hailing from Hitthala village in Shikaripur constituency, is doing his PhD on the topic “Sri B S Yeddyurappa’s Political leadership — a study” at the University of Mysore under the guidance of Fulbright scholar Prof H M Rajashekar. Prasanna who had registered for the doctoral degree on May 2007, is all set to submit his thesis in a few weeks time. When asked what inspired him to conduct the research, he said that it was Yeddyurappa’s rags-to-riches rise from a humble farmer’s family to the portals of the Vidhana Soudha. His thesis will throw light on the former CM’s birth in Bookanakere village in Mandya district, his move to Shikaripur and his rise up the political ladder from a town municipality president in 1975 to chief minister in 2008. Prasanna, who has also interviewed Yeddyurappa for his thesis, was not willing to share much of its contents, but only said that it will be a critical evaluation of the BJP leader with focus on his political leadership skills, building the party from the grass-roots. “I have not concentrated on his corruption charges as they are in the courts and are sub-judice,” he said.
