Jharkhand Minister Annapurna Devi and RJD MLA Sanjay Yadav became the two sureties in furnishing bail bonds for Rs 25,000 each, paving the way for party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's release from jail on bail on Monday.
The two RJD leaders went to the Special CBI court of Balmukund Rai (officiating judge) and furnished the bail bonds, Yadav's advocate Prabhat Kumar said in Ranchi.
The second condition they gave to the court was Yadav would not go abroad without its permission, he added.
The bail bonds and other conditions were furnished as per the Supreme Court order on Friday while granting bail to the former Bihar Chief Minister, who was in prison from September 30 after being sentenced five years imprisonment in the RC20A/96 fodder scam case pertaining to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 37.7 crore from Chaibasa Treasury when he was the head of the RJD regime in undivided Bihar.
Former Bihar Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, who is on provisional bail, and 43 others had been sentenced for varying terms after being convicted by the CBI court. Most of the convicted have obtained bail.
