Gurdaspur: Hours after a terror attack on two adjoining camps of Border Security Force (BSF) and army at Baramullah, Jammu and Kashmir, that left a BSF jawan killed and one injured, another ceasefire violation was reported along the international borders in Gurdaspur, Punjab, early morning on Monday.
Reports suggest that there was heavy shelling from across the border between 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m., however, no injuries were sustained on the Indian side.
"This could be a cover up firing for an infiltration bid but no one could slip through," intelligence sources said.
The Chakri post which is about 10 km from Gurdaspur district witnessed an exchange of fire.
Combing operations were undertaken in the immediate aftermath of this firing by BSF and Gurdaspur Police.
