BANGALORE: Karnataka Child Rights Observatory (KCRO) is launching a fellowship programme under the title, ‘UNICEF & KCRO Child Rights Media Fellowship’ for the selected journalists (Kannada and English including freelancers).Ten applicants will be selected and the jury will consider the reports that have focused on and impacted local issues, rather than general, national and international stories.Selected applicants will be given a citation and `20,000 as a fellowship amount for their further research or studies that support publication of stories on child rights.The winner will be selected by a committee of experts and will be announced by November 2011, provided they commit for the publication of at least six stories/write-ups on child rights issues, over the period of six months.Applications should be submitted to the KCRO secretariat, Child Rights Trust, 4606, 6th floor, highpoint 4, Palace Road, Bangalore.Applications can also be mailed to cronodalcrt@ gmail.com.There is no age limit and the last date for submitting the applications is September 25.For more details contact 080- 41138285/40912580.
