Ex-servicemen celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their sisters at Jantar Mantar
Not just their own sisters, many women at the venue tied rakhi to all veterans present there.

New Delhi: Ex-servicemen protesting at Jantar Mantar for One Rank One Pension found support from their sisters on Raksha Bandhan. The sisters of the veterans visited Jantar Mantar to tie Rakhi to their brothers on the auspicious day.

Not just their own sisters, many women at the venue tied rakhi to all veterans present there.

"This thread is very strong, full of feelings and will give them strength," said war veteran Colonel VN Thapar's wife Tripta who also tied rakhi to the ex-servicemen. She will be donating all the money that she has got from her 'brothers' at Jantar Mantar for the cause of OROP.

Kiran Bhardwaj wife of Colonel RK Bhardwaj tied Rakhi to all veterans. She said that she will tie rakhi to her brother later. "As veterans are away from their home, have come here first to tie them rakhi," she said.

Prem Gehlot, wife of late Colonel RS Gehlot also tied rakhi to the veterans at Jantar Mantar. Prem lost her husband 21 years ago.
