The student unrest over poor awarding of marks by Samblapur University spread to Rajgangpur area in Sundargarh district on Saturday. Around 500 students of Dalmiya College stalled vehicular traffic on the busy State Highway 10 for over three hours.
Rajgangpur-based students too raised similar complaints against the University. They accused the varsity authorities of adopting ‘callous’ and ‘whimsical’ attitude in awarding them poor marks in Plus-III second year examination.
Local police had to face tough time to manage the crowd even as hundreds of vehicles got stranded on both sides of the highway.
Meanwhile, students of the SK DAV Women’s College in Rourkela continued with their boycott of classes for the third consecutive day on Saturday. They along with students of the adjacent Rourkela College also resorted to road blockade.
