Aimed at training young and aspiring medical graduates in handling common emergency conditions, the Ananthapuri Hospital has started a masters course in Accident and Emergency Medicine.
The course is being approved by the Indian Society for Emergency Medicine. Medical College Principal Dr Ramdas Pisharody inaugurated the course at the hospital.
The goal of the course is provide adequate knowledge in handling the patients, identify and treat life-threatening emergencies, deal with non-life-threatening emergency conditions, teach adequate skills to resuscitate a critically ill patient and understand how to deliver emergency health care in humanitarian crises and international disasters.
Cardio Vascular Centre chairman Dr C G Bahuleyan, Nephrology head Dr R Kasi Vishwanathan and Anaesthesia Department head Dr V Mahadevan are among those who will lead the course.
