THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The draft of the decentralised comprehensive health sanitation project of Thiruvananthapuram district would be ready by December 10. The draft projects of Chirayinkeezh, Perumkadavila, Athiyannoor and Parassala blocks have already been completed.The projects of the municipalities would be ready by December 6 and the City Corporation would be ready by December 7, after which it would be compiled to form the district’s draft project, a statement from Arogya Keralam District Programme Manager B Unnikrishnan and District Medical Officer T Peethambaran said. The plan preparation is being headed by the Health Department and National Rural Health Mission. Apart from the local bodies, the Kerala Suchitwa Mission, Department of Agriculture, Social Welfare Department and Irrigation Department are participants in the preparation of the draft health and sanitation project. According to the statement, the project preparation is in the final stage in the capital. In Alappuzha, the plan preparation had been successful and the district is toeing the line of Alappuzha in the preparation process. The project envisages different components that affect the health of the citizens like pure drinking water supply, sanitation, cleanliness, women empowerment, literacy and nutrition. The block, panchayat-level plans are coordinated and compiled at the district level. The project is based on the practical realities and with the public participation focusing on the regional issues, the statement said. A training programme was given to all officials concerned.
