Dhirubhai Ambani to get Padma Vibhushan posthumously, sons Mukesh, Anil thank government

Dhirubhai Ambani was selected for the Padma Vibhushan, nation's second-highest civilian honor within the business and industry class on Monday.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani thanked the government for the honour given to Reliance Founder Dhirubhai Ambani. "The Padma Vibhushan awarded to Shri Dhirubhai Ambani is an honour to indomitable spirit of Indian entrepreneurship, innovation and ambition to always do better than the best in the world. On behalf of the Reliance family, we express our grateful thanks to the Government of India for the recognition awarded to Shri Dhirubhai Ambani for his contribution to the nation", the statement read.

Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani also thanked the government for bestowing the honour on his father. "I personally, and the entire Reliance family, are truly overwhelmed and deeply humbled at the award of this great national honour, the Padma Vibhushan, for the greatest entrepreneur and wealth creator in the history of India, my beloved father, Shri Dhirubhai Ambani. I am profoundly grateful to the present government, and in particular, our visionary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, for this recognition", the statement read.
