Delhi BJP will come up with its manifesto on November 22 which is expected to be a promise of good governance, revamp of public distribution system and reduction in power and water tariff.

"The party will release its manifesto for the December 4 Assembly elections on November 22," Delhi BJP chief Vijay Goel said in New Delhi on Thursday. Goel, who accompanied party's chief ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan during filing of nomination papers from Krishna Nagar assembly seat, said the manifesto would have key issues like controlling spiralling prices, reduction in power tariff by 30 per cent, better water management, women safety. "

Also it would have preference to students (belonging to any state) passing out from Delhi schools in admission to Delhi government colleges, rehabilitation of slums, permanent regularisation of unauthorised colonies and major thrust on development of Delhi villages," said Goel. He said the party had invited suggestions from Delhi residents for preparing our manifesto so that it does not remain a mere document but reflects the aspirations of people.

"We are overwhelmed by the response, more than 30,000 people have sent suggestions to us online. I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have sent suggestions, we are incorporating many of them," he informed.

The manifesto would also touch upon other issues such as revamping of PDS, upgrading public health infrastructure, strengthening anti-graft machinery and making it more effective, decentralised planning, making Delhi an IT hub and linking higher education with job skills.

"The key focus of our manifesto is 'good governance'. We would ensure that Delhi gets its rightful place in the league of world class cities. But more importantly our focus is to ensure primarily that it becomes a people-friendly city. The residents of the city should have better quality of life with affordable basic utilities and clean environment," he said.

The poor, vulnerable and marginalised sections of society would be accorded highest priority, he said, adding all JJ clusters would be rehabilitated under the policy of 'Jahan Jhuggi, Wahin Makaan'.
