Dehradun: The body of the female victim of the Dehradun murder case has been recovered from Yamuna river in the Porla area of Uttarkashi. The relatives of the victim will be going to Uttarakhand to claim the body.

All four suspects, including the cab driver who masterminded the assault, have been arrested in the case. One of the accused confessed to raping the female victim, though no traces of sexual assault could be established as her body had been missing.

The body of the male victim was recovered and was even cremated by the Uttarakhand Police without informing his family members.

On 23rd October, the Delhi-based couple Momita Das and Avijit Paul who lived in Delhi's Lado Sarai area had gone to Chakrata to celebrate Diwali. They hired a driver to the Tiger Falls where four men including driver Raju Das, tied him to a tree and strangled him before throwing the body off a cliff.

Four people from Dehradun were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly murdering the couple.
