MADURAI: The Government Pleader was directed by the Madurai Bench of the High Court on Wednesday to ascertain the explanation of the Director General of Police on a petition by Daya Cyber Park owned by the family of Union Minister M K Alagiri, seeking a directive to the police not to create any problem for the park or to discredit the venture which was functioning subject to all laws.R Manikandan, manager of the Daya Cyber Park, in his petition before the Bench, had said that Alagiri, his wife and son were shareholders of the company. The company had bought 3.18 acres and 78 cents near Maattuthavani in Madurai from industrialist Martin in March 2010, for `85 lakh and the deeds were duly registered. The petitioner averred that various rumours were being floated that these lands belonged to Annasamadharan Trust, run by A R Nagendra Iyer Nagaipoojai family. The six members of the Trust have sold these lands on the grounds that it was arid and not fit for farming and therefore not yielding any revenue. The sale had been effected legally. Cases regarding these lands in courts have been disposed of.The deeds had duly been registered in the name of the person who bought the lands, by the Revenue Department. The case filed by M P Natarajan opposing the lands, had also been disposed of. In this context, the rumours with political motives create apprehension that the officials of the company may be arrested and with the intention of bringing discredit to the undertaking. The petitioner claimed that the officials were responsible for this state of affairs and prayed for a directive to the officials not to create any problem for the company. When the petition came up for hearing before Justice R Sudhakar, the Judge held that the petitioner had filed this plea on the basis of conjecture. However, he directed to seek the explanation of the DGP and the Commissioner of Police, Madurai, and file it in court on Thursday.
