KOCHI: After three fun-filled days of music, dance and mind-boggling activities, curtains came down on ‘Brahama 2012’, the national-level technical and cultural festival at Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering and Technology on Friday. The three-day festival saw 1,239 students from 34 colleges across the state taking part in a range of contests. The festival concluded on an informal note and prizes were distributed in individual and group items.Though the short film festival on the theme ‘Neelakurinji Pookkumbol’ didn’t create much of an impression, the photography exhibition on ‘Shadows’ was excellent. The KMEA Engineering College bagged the first prize. Contests were held in paper presentation, quiz, C programming, web designing and CAD modelling. Model Engineering College won the web designing contest. The winners of group dance contest are Adi Sankara Institute of Engineering and Technology (girls) and FISAT (boys). The best manager contest had many interesting moments with contestants trying their hand on various issue they are likely to confront in the future. The ‘Best Manager’ title went to Vishnu Das of Thrissur Government Engineering College. As part of ‘Lead Indian’, about 100 students of the college took out a cycle rally to spread the message ‘Go Green’ on Monday. The rally was flagged off by college principal S G Iyer and it evoked good response.Aiming to spread the message of environmental protection, they traversed the stretches of Angamaly and Kalady. The initiative was aimed at instilling a civic sense and the need to address environmental issues. The auto expo was the highlight of the concluding day. Assistant motor vehicles inspector Vinod Kumar inaugurated the event in which students exhibited various models of cars and motor bikes. The modified versions of many old and new models drew large crowds.
