Curfew in Adoni to be lifted today

KURNOOL: Minister for forests and Kurnool in-charge Satrucharla Vijayarama Raju on Friday said that curfew imposed in Adoni town following communal riots during a Ganesh procession recently would be lifted on Saturday.He also promised to ensure that compensation was given to the victims of the riots including traders.The minister, along with minor irrigation minister T G Venkatesh and law minister Erasu Pratap Reddy visited Adoni on Friday.They participated in a peace meet held in the town. District collector Ramsankar Naik and SP Siva Prasad also attended.Speaking on the occasion, minister Satrucharla called upon the people to live in harmony. With regard to the cases filed in this connection, the minister said action would be taken after holding discussions with the government.In the last two days, curfew was relaxed during daytime and imposed just in the night.
