HYDERABAD: Though the exit of three Congress MLAs had had a jarring effect on the party, its leaders refuse to get off their high horse, saying that the development would not affect the strength of the ruling party in the Assembly. While some leaders said Jupalli Krishna Rao, Somarapu Satyanarayana and T Rajaiah joined the TRS to protect their personal interests, others were of the view that if they had gone for the Telangna cause, it was a hasty decision since the Congress was seized of the issue.Speaking to reporters on Monday, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botcha Satyanarayana said there was no immediate danger to the Congress government with the exit of the three MLAs.“I do not think they switched their loyalty for Telangana. They have their own axes to grind,” the PCC chief said.If the three legislators were really so bothered about Telangana state, they would not have gone to the TRS because the Congress high command is seriously working out a solution acceptable to all, he said.Former PCC president and MLC D Srinivas described their decision as very unfortunate.“It is a hasty decision.Though the T issue is more than 50 years old, for the first time, the Congress high command is keen on finding a permanent solution to it.It is in fact working with remarkable speed,” he said.Health minister DL Ravindra Reddy said there was no immediate threat to the Congress government in the state.“This is because the MLAs who swear their allegiance to YSR Congress Party president Jagan Mohan Reddy, are still in the Congress.I am sure they will not leave the party,” he said.Tributes Paid to IndiraHYDERABAD: Several Congress leaders on Monday paid tributes to former prime minister the late Indira Gandhi by garlanding her statue on the Necklace Road in Hyderabad on the occasion of her death anniversary.Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Tamil Nadu governor K Rosaiah, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, mayor B Karthika Reddy and several state ministers were among them.
