Congress decries BJDs politicking on relief

BHUBANESWAR: The OPCC on Friday criticised the BJD for distribution of relief on ‘party basis’ and warned that people will not tolerate such type of politicking in the time of distress.  OPCC spokesman Arjya Kumar Gyanendra alleged that complaints in this regard are pouring in from different parts of the State to the flood complaint cell of the party. Gyanendra demanded that relief announced for three days be extended to seven days and that announced for seven days extended to two weeks.   Stating that the Government officials in charge of relief should behave in an impartial manner, the Congress leader said,  else the party will be forced to take necessary action. He demanded that the State Government should immediately send health teams to flood-affected areas to prevent outbreak of epidemic.  He said OPCC committee on flood, headed by former MP Sriballav Panigrahi, visited different areas.
