The Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa would inaugurate a full-time annadhanam (free meal) scheme at the Sri Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam here on September 3.
A ceremonial ‘Pandalkal’ installation for the Chief Minister’s scheduled programmes, was held here on Wednesday. The Chief Minister would alsp lay the foundations for new projects and distribute welfare assistance for the poor.
On August 20, a team of ministers, including Finance Minister O Panneerselvam, ‘Natham’ R Viswanathan, Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, Municipal Administration and Rural Development Minister K P Munusamy, Housing and Urban Development Minister R Vaithilingam and School Education, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister N R Sivapathy inspected the the various spots.
The junction between West and South Chithirai Veedhi was finalised as the venue for Wednesday’s events and the ‘Pandalkal’ installation for the stage and meeting venue was held.
Priests also performed special poojas for the ‘pandalkal’ and later, installed the pole to make the pandal ready for the scheduled programmes.
