NEW DELHI: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who was in Delhi to meet the Congress party leaders on Thursday is understood to have tried to hard sell his own new pet projects to the high command. In the day long confabulations, Kiran Reddy is said to have put forward a four point agenda. To begin with, he once again is believed to have underlined the need for the party high command to take an early decision on Telangana issue. This is in view of the threats from various outfits and party leaders to step up protests over the delay on the decision. He is also understood to have given specific inputs to the party high command on this.Secondly, the chief minister sought clearances from the high command to go ahead with his new projects aimed at creating more employment opportunities and providing more funds to selfhelp groups.Thirdly, Reddy wanted the party leadership to help cut down the exuberances of new PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana and ensure that the party and the government are on the same page on various issues. Finally, he sought the central leaders' intervention on specific issues like restricting one man to one post. This is said to be an indirect attempt by him to get Satyanarayana's wings clipped.Kiran Kumar met Congress president Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union minister and in-charge of party affairs in the state Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union minister and party core group member A K Antony for support to go ahead with his agenda.Addressing a press conference later, a visibly happy Kiran Kumar gave the impression that his trip to the national capital was a success, at least on a personal political level. The chief minister reiterated that the party high command would take an "appropriate decision on Telangana issue at an appropriate time".Flanked by party MPs V Hanumantha Rao, Rajaiah and Harsha Kumar, the chief minister said that negotiations and consultations with party leaders from both the regions are continuing. To a query on clause 14(f), Kiran Kumar reminded that the Assembly had passed the resolution for deletion of the clause and requested the Centre for an early action.During his meeting with Prime Minister, he said that he requested for allocation of Rs 100 crore to set up a nonbanking financial corporation in the state to help women self-help groups.
