ALAPPUZHA: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has said that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was helping his relatives with the fund of the State Government. He was speaking at a function at Vayalar in connection with the 67th anniversary of the Vayalar massacre on Thursday. “`2 crore of the Kochi Metro Rail project was deposited in the account of private bank in Kollam.“The intention of Oommen Chandy is to get promotion and job security for a manager in the bank. The manager is a relative of Chandy,’’ the Opposition Leader said. “The corruption in the country will be removed only after the eradication of monopolies. An uprising is rising in the world against monopolies,’’ he said. CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said the stand of the LDF saved the country from an economic crisis. CPI state committee member T Purushothaman presided over the function. CPI state secretary C K Chandrappan spoke.
