New Delhi: India will again get a taste of the fabled Bill Clinton charisma when the former US president comes here on a three-day lecture tour towards the end of next month.
Clinton will address the India Leadership Summit in the Capital on November 29. He will also go to Bangalore and Mumbai to address the world's top leaders in business, politics and society.
Cherie Booth Blair, wife of British Prime Minister Tony Blair and well-known British attorney and human rights advocate, Craig and Marc Kielburger, founders of Free The Children and three-time Nobel Peace Prize nominees, and Azim Jamal, the best-selling author of The Corporate Sufi, will also address the leadership summit.
Clinton, the Democrat president during 1992-2000, first came to India six years ago that started the thaw in India-US relations. This was the first visit by a US president in over two decades.
Post-presidency, Clinton, known for his communication skills, has successfully transformed himself into an inspirational speaker and social activist.
After leaving the White House, Clinton established the William J Clinton Foundation, which has focused on four critical areas: health security, with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS; economic empowerment; citizen service; and racial, ethnic and religious reconciliation.
Most recently, Clinton accepted the role of UN Special Envoy for Tsunami Relief. He visited India last year to launch an AIDS awareness and training programme to fight this global scourge.
