Some schools in Chennai on Thursday received a bomb threat prompting police action, who soon reached the schools with bomb disposal squads.
Following the threat, students in these schools were sent back home with their parents, while anti-sabotage checks were conducted by the police.
The officials also urged people not to panic and said that action is being taken to identify the culprit who sent the emails. The incident, however, coerced parents to rush to schools to pick up their children.
Among the schools which received the bomb threat mail were Chennai Public school in DAV Gopalapuram and St Mary’s School, Parrys.
