HYDERABAD: YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said on Wednesday that the arrest of Sakshi vicechairman V Vijay Sai Reddy did not come as a surprise to him as they were expecting it, knowing fully well what the CBI was up to.Speaking to newsmen at Ongole, the Kadapa MP said: “The CBI is Congress Bureau of Investigation. We were not surprised when it arrested Vijay Sai Reddy. It is bound to act in line with what the Congress says.” He said he wanted the entire world to know that the CBI has changed the word government to YS Rajasekhara Reddy while filing the chargesheet against him (case relating to his wealth). When the High Court directed the CBI to investigate the case, it said “government” but the CBI changed it to my dad’s name,” he said, adding it was all politically motivated.“Had I been in the Congress, this would not have happened. When dad was in the Congress, he was considered an honourable chief minister and after he died and after I left the Congress, he no longer has the status,” he said.Jagan Mohan Reddy said what was being done against him was political vendetta which was being executed by the CBI at the behest of the Congress. “How could only the chief minister be held responsible for land allotments when such decisions had to be taken by the entire cabinet. The purpose of the investigation is not to find out whether wrong has been done or not but only to implicate me,” he said. He said he always believed in god and in electoral battles ahead, both Congress and TDP candidates would forfeit their security deposits.
