New Delhi: CBI on Thursday carried out searches at least 15 locations, including Bhubaneshwar Institute of Technology and residences and offices of senior officials of Seashore Group, spread across four states, in connection with multi-crore rupee chit fund scam.
They said that searches have also been conducted at Bhubaneswar Institute of Technology from where documents, showing payment of more than Rs nine crores that has been allegedly made by Seashore Group CMD Prasant Kumar Dash, were seized.
CBI sources said the residences of Dash, Seashore Group President Prasanna Kumar Sahoo, Chief Executive Officer Somyashree Mohanty, Vice-President Rudra Narayan Pal, Head of Seashore Multi-purpose Prabhat Chandra Mohanty, Ram Chandra Bisoi and five Directors of Seashore group were searched on Thursday.
The sources said documents pertaining to purchase of tickets in various names by Seashore Tourism have also been seized during the search conducted at the Head office of Travel and Rental (P)Ltd, Kolkata.
