KOCHI: In the wake of the flooding of fraudulent network marketing companies across the country, the Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) has demanded the government to come up with a legal framework to identify genuine companies engaged in direct selling. They pointed out that there was a need to nail the flybynight operators in the direct selling sector.
IDSA secretarygeneral Chavi Hemanth pointed out that the direct selling industry had been growing by 20 per cent in the last few years and is expected to register a turnover of Rs 7,120 crore by 201213. Out of the total business, about 32 per cent comes from the the south.
