New Delhi: South Indian film industry and Bollywood are very different from each other in terms of everything, from the actor's mannerism to their niche audience base but certain actors represent the same set of skills despite being in separate industries. Srikanth and Riteish Deshmukh also have a lot in common.
Srikanth debuted in 'Roja Kootam' which won him several commercial and critical acclaims along with the ITFA Best New Actor Award. Similarly, his role in 'Prathiban Kanayu' directed by Karu Pazhaniappan won him the Tamil Nadu State's Special Award for Best Actor.
After a string of unsuccessful films, Srikanth came up with ventures like 'April Madhathil', 'Adavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule' and 'Nanban'.
On the other hand, Ritesh Deshmukh made his entry with 'Tujhe Meri Kasam'. The film had an average response at the box office but he started gaining popularity through his performances in 'Masti', 'Kyaa Kool Hai Hum', 'Malamaal Weekly' and 'Apna Sapna Money Money'.
Riteish is primarily known for his comic timing which has fetched him awards such as Star Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards, IIFA Awards. Ritesh along with Boman Irani and Lara Dutta hosted the IIFA Awards for four consecutive years since 2008.
Both the stars seem to enjoy the same position in their respective domains but the box office is expecting more from them.
Srikanth's recent hit 'Nanban' has brought him several new projects and Riteish's career is also going well after 'Houseful', 'Double Dhamaal' and 'FALTU' but both of them need to push extra hard to keep their positions secured.
Srikanth's upcoming movies are 'Ethiri En 3', 'Nippu' and 'Paagan' whereas Riteish's 'Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya', 'Housefull 2' and 'Kyaa Super Kool Hai Hum' are set to hit screens very soon. These upcoming ventures will decide whether the two actors maintain their positions on the popularity meter or not.
