NEW DELHI: When asked about the resignation of Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa, NDA convener Sharad Yadav admitted that he must go, but was evasive on his ouster, saying that it was up to the BJP to take a call.It is learnt that Yeddyurappa has given an assurance to BJP president Nitin Gadkari that he will step down if the party high command wants him to do so. The report to be submitted to the state government by Lokayukta Santosh Hegde would be analysed by the BJP central leadership and discussed with the Chief Minister, before a decision is made on asking him to step down. The decision, however, may be made as soon as on Wednesday, as the high command is convinced that they cannot mount pressure on the Congress-led UPA government, unless they themselves make bold decisions to set their own house in order. The possibility of going for dissolution of the Assembly is ruled out, as the BJP is in no mood to sacrifice its first elected State government in the South.
