Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar has replaced Chhagan Bhujbal as Deputy CM -- a move that has left Bhujbal furious.
New Delhi: After the Congress decision to appoint Prithiviraj Chavan as the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra, the party’s ally NCP also went in for a leadership change.
In a surprise and sudden move, NCP supreme Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar has replaced Chhagan Bhujbal as Deputy Chief Minister -- a move that has left Bhujbal furious.
There were initial doubts though whether a soft mannered Chavan be able to take on Sharad Pawar.
But Pawar was magnanimous in his support for the new CM.
"It is a good selection, he will revive Maharashtra," said Pawar, a former chief minister whose shadow always looms large over the state. "He will have full support of the NCP."
