HYDERABAD: The Bharat Swabhiman Trust will organise a Satyagraha on June 3 at the Dharna Chowk, Indira Park as part of yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s nationwide protest against corruption.“Come 3 June, a massive Satyagraha will be organised at the Dharna Chowk between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.We expect at least 30,000 volunteers to participate in the protest.This kind of protests will take place simultaneously in every capital city.Ramdev Baba will lead all of us from Jantar Mantar in New Delhi,” said G Sridhar Rao, chief cordinator of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust at a press conference here on Wednesday.Explaining the rationale behind holding the protest, he said it was high time to change the system as the present dispensation at the Centre had failed in tackling corruption and bringing back black money stashed in safe havens abroad.“More than 90% of the wealth of the nation lies with less than 5% of the people.Ramdev Baba has been fighting against black money deposits in foreign banks, corruption and now it is time for bringing about a change in the system,” he said. He claimed that they had the support of all sections of the society and named organisations like the Yuva Bharat, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, India Against Corruption, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and various SC/ST groups including Adivasi groups.Some supporters of Baba Ramdev in the twin cities also plan to participate in the ‘Chalo Dilli’ call given by the yoga guru in August to put pressure on the government prior to the monsoon session of the Parliament.Arvind Kejriwal to come calling on June 13Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal is scheduled to visit the city on June 13 to interact with anti-corruption activists and strengthen the fight against corruption.“He will meet the activists in Hyderabad and discuss with them the proposed campaign for setting up a special investigation team (SIT) probe against the Prime Minister and other cabinet ministers,” said a spokesperson of the India Against Corruption.Kejriwal and his activists will also deliberate on the steps to carry forward their Jan Lokpal Bill agenda among others.
