BANGALORE: The aviation industry may take pride in recent achievements, but according to the Chief Executive of Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC), the production techniques are ‘outdated’.Speaking at the Foundation Day celebrations of the Centre for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) at the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) on Monday, CEO of CEMILAC Tamil Mani said that production was different from its international counterparts and plans had not been translated properly. Stating that India had not exploited the potential of its private players, he said that the latter had considerable influence over design and frequently provided design and software solutions to global players. He also stated that there was an international consultant for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme.“I don’t know the reason why we haven’t used this,”, he said and asserted the integration of public and private players for the industry’s benefit. Taking a dig at complaints of low man power, Tamil Mani pointed out that it was a ‘paradox’ that there were so many unemployed students as organisations often complain about decreasing man power.
