Andhra CM not in a hurry on Dharmana issue

A day after chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had returned from New Delhi after meeting UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, who gave him a free hand to deal with the resignation of roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, Kiran Kumar Reddy chose to remain silent on Saturday when asked about his decision.

The chief minister was talking to mediapersons in the conference hall in the Secretariat here on Saturday after the cabinet sub-committee on the SC/ST sub plan had submitted its report to him.

When mediapersons asked him about his decision on Dharmana’s resignation and his hectic parleys with the Congress high command during his two-day stay in Delhi, Kiran Kumar Reddy left the venue without answering the questions.

Dharmana’s resignation letter is lying on the table of the chief minister.

Sources close to the chief minister said Kiran did not want to act in haste on Dharmana’s issue as he had returned from the national capital only the previous night.

But he is likely to follow the high command’s instructions in two or three days.

The chief minister used to hold press conferences in Delhi itself at the end of his Delhi tours but kept himself away form media glare this time after meeting Sonia Gandhi and other Congress top brass.
