THIRUVANANTHAPURAM/THRISSUR: An all-party delegation led by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the Mullaperiyar issue. The team will discuss with the Prime Minister, the resolution adopted by the State Assembly on the Mullaperiyar issue. The date of the meeting would be finalised this week after consulting with the Centre, once the PM’s appointment is finalised. Chandy said that he has invited all the parties to the all-party meeting. The other night Chief Minister had met the Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan at the Aluva Palace to hold discussions. Meanwhile, Achuthanandan told reporters in Thrissur on Sunday that he was willing to be a part of the all- party delegation to press for the Kerala’s cause in the Mullaperiyar issue. “I welcome the Chief Minister’s offer to accompany him to New Delhi, if the Prime Minister is ready for a discussion in order to find a solution for the problem,” he was speaking to the media after paying a visit to Sukumar Azhikode, the ailing literary critic admitted to a private hospital.  The Opposition Leader said that it was high-time that the national parties broke their silence and took a clear-cut stand on the Mullaperiyar row with Tamil Nadu, particularly against the backdrop of Kerala Assembly passing a resolution on the issue.
