AIADMK cadre throng Poes Garden

CHENNAI: AIADMK functionaries and cadre from various parts of the State thronged the residence of Chief Minister and party general secretary J Jayalalithaa at Poes Garden on Friday urging her to change party nominees announced in certain places. Ashok Kumar, a cadre from Perambur, attempted self-immolation by pouring kerosene to press this demand. But the police personnel prevented him. Functionaries from various parts of the city and some other districts have submitted representations to the party chief explaining their views on some of those in the fray.
