She looked a million bucks when she turned sizzling hot at this Artic event on April 26. Shriya Saran has managed to be behind the greasepaint for nearly 10 long years as she leaves a stamp in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi cinema. "I feel blessed to be part of the industry. I'm very grateful for being appreciated by people for all along. This film world always makes me feel special. There’s no better award than that," she says.
The actress who almost disappeared in Tollywood is back with Shekar Kammula’s, ‘Life is Beautiful’, which stars newcomers. She also has another English film, ‘Midnight’s Children lined up.And she’s doesn’t quite agree that she has suddenly slowed down, when it comes to picking up projects. "I've been working hard and I'm happy with the space I'm into. I am done with girl-next- door characters and am looking forward to do films with some different content, as some roles that I used to play have started getting boring for me," she reveals.
Ask for another 'Sivaji' magic, and this is what the actress has to say, "Only Shankar and Rajini can bring that back. You should probably ask them, whether they will come up with another 'Sivaji' and cast me."
Shriya likes Bangalore city. But she's yet to get attracted to Kannada heroes. The actress doesn’t consider her last special appearance in Kannada, 'Arasu', as her debut in Sandalwood. "I've not done any movie in Kannada," she says. Why? "I'll do when the right time comes," she cuts the conversation short.
Apart from movies, Shriya is happy with her philanthropic activities. "Working with the visually challenged is something that I always love to be part off. This NGO, Shree Spa is totally run by them. Even the receptionist is 40 percent visually blind. Currently five people are working as a team. I thoroughly enjoy being with these people," she says.
