Abhishekam performed to Gopuram

VIJAYAWADA: Maha Kumbabhishekam was performed at Kanakadurga temple on Indrakeeladri on Friday under the guidance of Kanchi seer Sri Jayendra Saraswati. Water brought from 12 holy rivers and three oceans was used for performing Abhishekam to the gold-plated Gopuram at the Kanakadurga temple.A new Dhwajasthambham was also erected replacing the old one on the occasion.Later, Purnaahuti was performed. Endowments minister C Ramachandraiah, addi t i o n a l endowments commissioner T Chandrakumar and other dignitaries participated in the temple ritual. Later, the minister inaugurated 32 rest rooms constructed on the foothill of Indrakeeladri
