HYDERABAD: A five member inter-state robber gang from Delhi was nabbed on Monday by Task Force sleuths.A country-made firearm, two live rounds of ammunition and three daggers were recovered from them.Police said the gang was planning to commit robberies in Punjagutta and Banjara Hills areas.According to deputy commissioner of police (Task Force) Ch Ramchander, the gang is led by Asgar Ali, a native of Bihar who was earlier involved in offences in Delhi.Four other accused, Avtar Singh Rana, Sushanth Kumar, Mohd Rizwan and Satish also hail from Delhi and all have criminal backgrounds. “The gang planned to commit dacoities and extortions. For this, they purchased the country-made fire arm and ammunition from a person in Delhi for Rs 2,000,’’ Ramchander said. On October 8, the five members came to the city by Dakshin Express and took shelter at the Nampally railway station during nights.They conducted recce of houses of rich people in Punjagutta and Banjara Hills during the day. The five were nabbed near BK Guda park in SR Nagar when they were planning to commit a dacoity, police claimed. The accused and the seized weapons were handed over to SR Nagar police for further action.
