BANGALORE: Sleuths attached to fraud and misappropriation wing of Central Crime Branch have arrested five persons and have seized 4,450 pirated DVDs worth Rs 5 lakh from them. A team led by B Dayananda, Joint Commissioner of Police(East) and D M Krishnam Raju, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) carried out the raids on Thursday at Nagarbhavi, and found the accused selling the DVDs on footpaths. The police also seized six cell phones and Rs 390 cash from the accused.The arrested have been identified as R Nagaraj alias Ramachandrappa, 28, Prabha S alias Shambulingappa, 21, Kiran alias Dharma, 26, Balu alias Anthony, 23 and Krishna Nayan alias Ganganayak, 19.Tailor Found Dead The body of a 22-year-old tailor was found in a tank at Kogilu on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Girish of Kogilu Layout. The police said, on Sunday, as usual, he left for the job but did not return home till Thursday. Girish’s brother had registered a missing case at the Yelanka Police. Meanwhile, some persons found the body floating in the tank in Kogilu. They alerted Yelanka Police who rushed to the spot and fished out the body. 40-year-old Man Dies in Road MishapBangalore: A 40-year-old man working in a catering agency, died after he was allegedly knocked down by a truck carrying cement at Amruthahalli junction in the city on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Yogish, a resident of Hanumanthnagar. According to police, at about 6.40 am on Thursday, Yogish was driving a TVS motor-cycle with his father, Ramachandrappa as pillion, on Bellary Road. He stopped his two-wheeler to cross the road near Amruthahalli junction. At that point, the truck which was coming from behind hit the two-wheeler. While Yogish succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital, his father Ramachandrappa sustained minor injuries and was admitted to a private hospital. The truck driver, Anjaneyaluu, 23, has been arrested. Yelanka Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating.
