2 Accident Victims Die After UP Police Refuse to Take Them, Say It Would ‘Dirty’ Their Vehicle

Lucknow: Two minors died in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur after being denied timely medical assistance following an accident when police refused to take them to hospital in their vehicle.

The accident occurred on Thursday night when the youths lost control of their motorcycle and crashed into the gutter.

Onlookers rushed to site and called the police. However, when a Dial 100 PCR reached on the spot, policemen refused to take them to hospital, saying that their vehicle will get dirty.

They, instead, said that the two should be taken to hospital in a tempo. People present on the spot kept requesting but they refused . A three minute video of the incident has surfaced showing the insensitive side of the Dial100 cops.

Local people finally took the injured to the district hospital in a tempo, where both of them died shortly.

Arpit Khurana (17) and Sunny (17) crashed into a gutter after they lost the control of the bike and collided with a pillar in Mangalnagar Chowk at Beri Bagh. On hearing the crash sound, locals gathered and tried to take out the injured duo out of the gutter, who were bleeding from their heads and had sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, SP City Prabal Pratap Singh said that this incident is serious and strict action will be taken against responsible policemen. He further stated that it is the duty of every common man to take the injured to the hospital and they cannot refuse to send anyone to the hospital.
