11 more held for attack on Shankar Rao

HYDERABAD: Even as handlooms minister P Shankar Rao alleged that the police had arrested innocent people in connection with a recent attack on him at NTR Nagar, the LB Nagar police arrested 11 more persons, allegedly involved in the attack. They were later sent to judicial remand. Today's arrests were made based on the photographs and video footage in the media. They were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
Earlier the police held nine persons in connection with the attack. It may be recalled that when Shankar Rao went to meet the family of Jahangir Ali, a history sheeter, a huge mob hurled eggs, tomatoes and stones at him.
