Veteran actor Nassar, known for his appearances in hit films such as Rowdy Rathore, is grappling with a sombre chapter in his life. His father, Mahboob Basha, aged 90, succumbed to age-related illnesses. He passed away on Tuesday at his residence in Chengalpet.
The primary reason why Nassar stepped into showbiz was his father who made him join film and acting institutes. His father wanted him to learn acting, and shine in the field of cinema. To fulfil his father’s wish, Nassar initially joined the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce’s Film Institute. He also went to the Tamil Nadu Institute for Film and Television Technology. Despite the efforts not coming to fruition at the initial period, Nassar’s father had an unwavering belief in his child. As a consequence, Nassar went on to become the star and talented actor that he is today.
The funeral of the actor’s father happened in the evening on the same day. Among the attendees were close friends and family. Meanwhile, several celebrities have poured in the condolences messages for Nassar’s father. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin also expressed grief over the demise of the actor’s father.
Nassar is a prominent character actor in South India. He also holds the position of president of the Actor’s Union. The actor who is primarily known for his contribution to Tamil and Telugu, is currently busy shooting for his next project. His last big screen appearance was in the Ponniyin Selvan 2, directed by Mani Ratnam. The film featured stars including Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Vikram Prabu, Sarath Kumar, Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala and Jayaram, among others.
Nassar is also popular for his iconic role in the magnum opus Baahubali. He played Bijjaladeva in the popular franchise. Through his soulful performances in multiple films, the actor continues to win hearts and never fails to impress.
