Summarizing long and plain text via ChatGPT
Navigate to chatgpt.jpgVisit ChatGPT. Open your web browser and navigate to https://chat.openai.com/chat
Log in (after signing up). Click the left button to log in to ChatGPT using your existing account. If you don't have one, click the right button to register for a new account. An email address and a mobile phone that can receive the authentication code are needed for the registration process.
Enter the prompt. Ask the ChatGPT to "Help me summarize the following text." Next, paste the text you want to summarize into the chat box and hit the "send" button.
Check the summary and make alterations if needed. Wait while ChatGPT evaluates the text and produces a summary. Voila! Now you have a condensed version of the research article. If the summary is too long or misses something, you can ask ChatGPT to revise it by giving a certain command such as "Keep it to no more than 100 words".
Creating a Summary of a PDF File
Choose the app that you'd like to use, and navigate to the website and install the software. There are many online or desktop apps on the market that are developed based on ChatGPT or other AI models and improve the latter’s performance though on different levels or with various file formats supported.
Import/Upload your text in PDF format to the software. Once the app has been downloaded, double-click the desktop icon to launch it. From the program's main interface, open the file and choose which local files you want to import and add.
Chat with the integrated AI. Click "Chat Now" on the chat window on the right side of the page when it has loaded to start a conversation.
Give your command. Then, select the first suggested action, "Summarize this PDF file," or, if you'd rather take another action, such as "Display this PDF file in slide mode," you can type the summarization command later in the chat box below.
Check the summary. Wait for a few seconds until you get a summary. You may ask specific questions to receive a more thorough description of the topic.
Write a Summary of Various Lengths Using QuillBot AI
Navigate to QuillBot. Open a browser (You can use Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or another browser) and go to https://quillbot.com/summarize
Enter the text. Copy and paste the words you wish to summarize into the left text field.
Choose a summarization mode on the top. The “Paragraph” mode generates a new cohesive paragraph from the source text, while the “Key Sentences” mode pulls the most important sentence.
Check the summary. If you are not satisfied with the length or the number of details of the condensed text in the right box, adjust the “Summary Length” slider.
Re-summaerize it. Then you need to hit the "Re-Summarize" button and a new summary will be automatically created.
