Rangdajied FC suffered yet another setback when they went down fighting to East Bengal FC 2-1 during an I-League encounter at the J N Stadium.

Shillong: Host Rangdajied FC Saturday suffered yet another setback when they went down fighting to East Bengal FC 2-1 during an I-League encounter at the J N Stadium here.

The Kolkatan side scored one each in each half to take home three points leaving a re-strengthened Rangdajied FC disappointed at home.

A sloppy defense at the back allowed East Bengal to take the lead in the 41st minute when Gurwinder netted a free kick from the right flank leaving Rangdajied keeper Subrata Paul gazing.

The home side struggled to make their home fans happy and managed to pull an equaliser in the dying minute of the first half through Kim Yong.

Eugene who took the ball from the right flank found Yong with a low cross while the latter then made no mistake to net with a header.

Returning after the break, East Bengal renewed their energy and style to dominate the remaining part of the match. Shylo Malswamtulunga netted a rebound from Paul when Chidi sent a powerful right footer to score the match winner.

With this win, East Bengal are at placed at number 10 in the table with 12 points while Rangdajied FC remained in the relegation zone with eight points.
