New Delhi: Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has been linked to a move to Manchester United, and according to the Mirror, the 27-year-old Italian has said that he will be 'proud' to get an offer from Old Trafford.
The new United manager David Moyes is reportedly looking for a central midfielder after Paul Scholes hung his shoes at the end of the last season. Darren Fletcher has a big question mark over his fitness, and in that scenario Marchisio fits the bill.
But Marchisio has denied any official approach by United while admitting that he will be glad to receive an offer, especially if he is unwanted at Juventus. "I've heard that I might not be so valuable to Juve any more," the Mirror quoted him as saying.
"I've not been told anything by the club or received any offers and I need to speak to Juve to see if I am still an important player for them. If that's not the case, it will be normal to look at other teams. It is not only down to me - it has to be the club as well," he added.
The newspaper has also suggested that Marchisio could be available for 24 million pounds this summer. "So far, I do not know, but if I get offers from Manchester United, or Monaco, I would be very proud," said Marchisio, who is currently away on international duty with Italy at the Confederations Cup in Brazil.
