UPPSC PCS Prelims Exam 2024 Postponed, Revised Date Expected Soon

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has postponed the PCS prelims exam. The Combined State/Senior Subordinate Services (Pvt.) Examination-2024 which was scheduled to be held on October 27 has now been postponed indefinitely. The new exam date is expected to be announced soon. Candidates must keep checking the official website, uppsc.up.gov.in, from time to time for the latest updates on the exam date.

More than five lakh applications have been received for the PCS exam. Through the test, recruitments are done for posts like DSP SDM and BDO. UPPSC has released recruitment for a total of 220 posts for PCS-2024. The process of online application commenced on January 1. The last date for depositing the online fee was January 29, while the last date to complete the application process was February 2. By the last date, 5,74,538 candidates had applied for the UPPSC PCS exam this year. After this, the candidates were allowed to modify their application form till February 9.

How To Check UPPSC PCS 2024 Exam Postponement Notice?

Step 1 — Visit the official website of UPPSC uppsc.up.gov.in.

Step 2 — Click on the exam postponement notice link available in the “What’s New” section.

Step 3 — A PDF file will open, which will contain detailed information.

Step 4 — Download the PDF and take a printout for future use.

The UPPSC PCS prelims exam will have two compulsory papers. The first exam will be held from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and the second paper from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Both papers will be of 200 marks each and the time duration for each will be two hours. It is mandatory to appear in both papers to be successful in the exam. The minimum passing marks of the exam is 33 per cent.

In the PCS-2023 examination, as many as 5,65,459 candidates had applied for 254 posts, while in PCS-2020, about 5.95 lakh candidates applied for 487 posts. At the same time, a record 6,91,173 candidates applied for 627 posts in PCS-2021. Similarly, 5,44,664 candidates applied for 453 posts in PCS-2019, and 6,35,844 candidates applied for 976 posts in PCS-2018.
