The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has handed over the investigation into the alleged paper leak of the Review Officer (RO)/ Assistant Review Officer (ARO) pre-examination held on Sunday, February 11, to the Special Task Force (STF). Additionally, the UPPSC has constituted an internal committee to investigate the case and submit a report to the commission.
According to reports, 2,387 centres were set up in 58 districts to conduct the examination. Out of the 10,76,004 applicants, 64 per cent of the candidates appeared for the examination on Sunday. During the pre-examination of RO-ARO of UPPSC, a candidate from Ram Anjor Mishra Inter College, Praveen Kumar Patel, was caught cheating with a Bluetooth device and subsequently handed over to the police. This incident led to other candidates creating a major ruckus at the exam centre in Ghazipur, alleging a paper leak.
Meanwhile, the UPPSC secretary, Ashok Kumar, mentioned the constitution of the internal committee to investigate the issue. He also stated that the commission has sent a formal recommendation to the state government requesting the STF to probe the matter.
